" The framers came back today to complete the railings.  They were waiting for the siding crew to complete the siding before they made the railing return to the exterior walls.  I had the windows placed symetrically.  If I had to do it over I would go with larger windows.  I had a utility room built below the house where I have my well pump and extensive filtration system.  I accounted for the additional siding in my order but neglected to think about the corner trim.  The siding crew worked from the gound up and at the top we realized my error and I had to by cedar board locally.  I will use the extra paint the company sent with the kit to finish the cedar.  The local cedar was not as nice was the kit wood.  This was my mistake. "
" Some of the wood used to frame the steps is treated lumber from local lumber yards.  I made a few changes to the stairs on site and required more wood so we went with local treated lumber as you see it here.  Still looks good. "
" This side face the ocean, several lots back, but the view from the upper floor includes ocean views.  The intire lot is surounded with the live oak trees.  The utility roon is more noticable from this angle.  While there are no real streets here, the other side of the house faces the road.  The dirt/sand area in the foreground is the septic field.  I can sit at my desk in the loft and look out over the ocean. "
" This side is close to property line so I elected not to have many windows plus a first floor window in the master bedroom, far right, would leave the bed under a window on my nieghbor’s side of the house.  Too akward.  The small raised platform is for the HVAC exterior condensing unit.  They must be out of the flood plane.  This was additional.  I had the electrician mount dual spots at the eaves on each cornerfor night lighting and security. "
" This side faces the street. If I built this anywhere else, I would have elected for concrete basement walls and run the steps down from the first floor beneath the upstairs steps. "
" I have been in construction and architectural engineering for thirty years.  My wife and I spent 2 ½ years searching magazines, internet, and log cabin and cedar cabin home shows looking a good product for a huricane zone.  We found this at two years and kept looking unsing this as the standard to surpass.  We found none. We kept looking at this product and at 2 ½ years realized we wanted this and nothing else would do.  We will have our close-in inspection next week.  The Wildrness Cabin Company portion of the project is complete and I am certain I cannot have been happier with a different choice.  I look forward to completing the interior because completing the exterior was very easy.
